Paul R. Kyriss

Paul R. Kyriss, 76, of Libby, died on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at Brendan House in Kalispell. He was born on June 28, 1940 at Creighton, Neb. to Lawrence and Ellen (Kimbel) Kyriss. He started school in Whitefish and attended through the fourth grade. He finished school in Troy and graduated there with the class of 1948.

Paul enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduation. He served honorably for eight years. He returned to Troy and went to work for the J. Neils Lumber Company. He worked there through all changes of ownership of the sawmill, including St. Regis, Champion International and Stimson. Paul married Janet Walton in July of 1964 and they divorced in 1977. He moved to Libby in 1978. Paul married Linda Timbo in 1983 at the United Methodist Church. He retired in 2002.

Paul was an amateur gunsmith, a lifelong reloader and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Linda Kyriss, Libby; children Wanda Marie Knight (Clint), Lake Stevens, Wash.; Loren Kyriss (Christy), Snohomish, Wash.; a brother Howard Kyriss, Kalispell; three grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at the funeral home.
