Capitol Christmas Tree Ornament Making: The Kootenai National Forest will be supplying the Capitol Christmas Tree this year! Stop by the Libby library to help make ornaments to decorate the trees and show off the “beauty of the big sky.” Aug. is your last chance to make an ornament. Please call the Libby library for details at 406-293-2778.

Copies are available at the library.

Aug. 22, 10 a.m.: Preschool Mad Science: join us at J. Neil’s Memorial Park to make your own lava lamp. Learn how to make a wave bottle using oil, water, and a secret ingredient that makes the whole thing fizz, bubble, and erupt.

Aug. 25: Amnesty Day: the last Friday of every month is Amnesty Day at the Lincoln County Public Libraries. Any materials less than 90 days overdue which are returned in good condition to any of the three libraries on that day will have all penalties waived.
