Neither girls nor boys’ Libby cross country teams placed at last week’s Flathead Invitational, but first-year head coach Rodd Zeiler has stressed earlier in the season that the team’s early goals include figuring out the mental game that allows for the competitive edge.

Lauren Thorstenson finished 42 of 172 girls at the Flathead Invite on Saturday with a time of 21:56:25.

For the boys, Colin Maloney came in 36th with a time of 17:38:10, Mike Diller’s 19:38:31 finished 88th, followed by their teammates Nicklaus Gier, 22:14:70, 124, and John Cheroske, 22:53:91, 127.

The team will meet in Ronan on Thursday.
