What would a Clinton presidency bring?

| October 28, 2016 9:25 AM

As the election nears and there is a possibility that Mrs. Clinton might win the presidency, it’s worth looking at a very unique and positive result, namely the day-to-day collaboration of a sitting president with a former president.

Because of nepotism laws, Bill Clinton can probably not hold an official position, which might be all the better for international schmoozing and diplomacy, not to mention a crabby Congress.

Hillary spent those years in the White House too, for the two terms her husband was president — years of balanced budgets and no drones — so she already knows things about working with Congress that many presidents never learn. With 16 years White House experience between them, Mrs. Cilnton definitely has a leg up on people who step into the presidency cold. It remains to be seen if this experience and teamwork can translate into the work of executive management and a sane foreign policy.
