Opal Smith

Opal Smith passed away at the Springs in Missoula on Oct. 16, 2016.

Opal was born in Augusta on Oct. 9, 1931.

Opal married Donald R. Smith in Choteau in 1948. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Washington. In 1948, they moved to Libby. Opal resided in Libby until she passed away on Oct. 16.

Don and Opal built their house on Ski and Dale roads where they raised four children: Connie, Judy, Michael and Calvin.

Opal leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Opal enjoyed visiting with people, walking, snowmobiling, wood working and taking care of her yard.

Opal enjoyed working at Rosauers for 25 years. During those 25 years, she enjoyed visiting, meeting and helping customers. After retirement, many people remembered her for her smile and ability to always remember their name.

The memorial service will be held on Nov. 2, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Schnackenberg and Nelson funeral home, 422 W. 2nd St., Libby.
