The Libby cross country team recorded all personal best times on Wednesday at Whitefish.

Coach Rodd Zeiler was pleased with his team’s performance.

“We’re moving in the right direction,” he said. “I hope to see more at the divisional.”

Lauren Thorstenson led the girls with an eighth-place finish with a time of 19:54, breaking the 20-minute mark for the first time.

Other girls’ runners and their times were as follows: Mikalyn Zeiler, 21:07; Annie Berget, 22:23; Sidney Stevenson, 25:34; Kyla Cady, 26:37; and Marissa Sanderson, 29:52.

The Loggers were led by Michael Diller’s 19th-place finish with a time of 17:53.

Other boys’ scores and their times were: John Cheroske, 19:59; Masin Payne, 22:07; and Kaleb Lindgren, 27:04.

As a team the girls placed fifth out of seven teams. Whitefish won the girls meet, and Columbia Falls won the boys’. Libby didn’t have the required five runners to compete as a boys team.

Zeiler hopes to have three injured boys back for the Western B divisional race at Rivers Bend Golf Course in Columbia Falls on Thursday. Race times are 1 p.m. for the boys and 1:45 p.m. for the girls.

The state meet is at Kalispell on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Libby will compete with Ronan, St. Ignatius, Loyola, Eureka, Bigfork, Deer Lodge, Anaconda and Thompson Falls.
