Libby tennis wins, ties against Bigfork

The Vikings and Valkyries of Bigfork visited Libby Saturday afternoon for tennis matches. The Lady Loggers dropped three of the singles matches, but won both doubles contests to earn the 3-3 draw. The boys won all of four singles matches and split the two doubles matches to claim victory, 5-1.

On the girls’ side of the net, Kaylene Hudson picked up the Lady Loggers’ only win, defeating Kalia Wicklund 6-3, 7-5. Isabelle Martineau fell to Alanna Weihcher, 0-6, 0-6; Jessika Jones lost to Karlee Park, 2-6, 1-6 and Jillian Hawthorne was defeated by Julia Saunders, 6-7(2), 4-6. Dani Hawthorne and Mehki Sykes took down Wilson Vogt and Xiao Xiao Strong, 6-1, 6-3 and Jenna Barrick and Cloie Boardner knocked off Stacey Paulson and Maria Zavata, 6-0, 7(4)-6.

On the boys’ side, Jhamaal Sykes defeated Alex Buenz, 6-3, 6-2; Jason Brant beat Michael Bedford, 6-3, 6-3; Cody Wood blanked Noah VanQueckelburg, 6-0, 6-0, and Colin Maloney knocked off Grant Gibson, 6-1, 6-2. In doubles play Rayson Arnold and Virgil Sadewasser fell to George Gibson and Ben Russell, 1-6, 0-6 and Gio Cano and Erik Lauer beat Colton Reichenback and Clayton Reichenback, 6-1, 6-3.
