61, of Winnemucca, Nev.

 

Patrick Dwaine Thompson, 61, of Winnemucca, Nev., passed away March 20, 2016, after a short illness.

Born May 1, 1954, to Dick and Shirley Thompson, Pat graduated from Libby High School in 1972 and left to attend DeVry University. Returning to Libby, he began working for W.R. Grace. He soon met his soulmate Katherine Marie Leader. They married in 1974 and had three beautiful children.

They lived in Libby until 1990. Moving to Winnemucca, Nev., Pat worked as a head electrician in the gold mines. An avid gun enthusiast, he shared his love with his wife and children. He ran a small bullet manufacturing business, enjoyed going to gun shows and shooting in competitions. 

Pat was an amazing photographer and he and Marie spend many hours and days visiting the gorgeous Teton Mountains, recording them in photographs and paintings. He was especially proud of Marie’s stunning landscape paintings.

Pat was preceded in death by his father Dick Thompson; baby sister Shirley; grandparents Richard and Virginia Thompson, Woody and Mildred (Toots) Brown and Mary Collier.

He is survived by his wife Katherine of Winnemucca, Nev.; daughter Tanya (Donnie) of Lacy, Wash.; son Jeremiah of Georgia; daughter Kassandra (Jaret) of Redlands, Calif.; parents Mike and Shirley Collier of Libby; brother Rich (Susan) Thompson of Libby; sister Cindy (Pat) Isbell of Cheney, Wash.; brother Tim (Dusti) Thompson of Libby; brother Jim (Lisa) Thompson of Eureka; brother Michael (Tina) Collier of Kalispell; six fantastic grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial is planned for 2 p.m. April 9, 2016, in Winnemucca, Nev.
