2016-17 registration dates set for Libby Schools

Central School registration and open house

At 10 a.m. August 17, all returning parents and students must attend to register for the upcoming school year at Central School. At the same time on August 26, all new students and parents must attend to register.

Parents/guardians and students are required to attend the session. Paperwork and scheduling will be completed during this time.

New policies will be discussed.

It is imperative each student and parent/guardian meet with Central Staff before school begins.

Libby High School activity ticket is $50, and if any student is participating in any activity during the 2015-2016 school year, they are required to purchase an $80 activity ticket.

The 2016-2017 High School Yearbook is $75, but students who reserve their yearbook in advance will pay $60.

Student pictures will be taken on September 2 at Libby High School.

Photos will be used in student profiles and their free identification cards.

Parents and students will also have the option to purchase various photo packages at this time.

Hats and inappropriate dress wear is not allowed for the photos.

Transportation to the high school is provided for picture day.

November 2 is the yearbook deadline for seniors are to have their color portraits ready.

Picture retakes will be on October 10. August 31 is the first day of school.

Libby Elementary School registration and open house

At 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 18 and 19, new students are expected to register, and at 9 a.m. on August 22 and 23, returning students are expected to register at the Libby Elementary School. The K-6 Open House will be August 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Preschool Open House will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on September 6. New students will need the following information at registration: up-to-date immunization record, a certified birth certificate, emergency contact information, previous school report card and/or other school record, as well as name, address and phone number of previous school.

Any student planning to participate in extracurricular activities must have a doctor’s sports physical prior to any practice.

First day of school begins on Aug. 31 at 8:15 a.m. for grades one through six, Sept. 6 at 8:15 a.m. for Kindergarten and on Sept. 7 at 8:30 a.m. for Preschool.

Libby Middle and High School registration

August 17 from 9 a.m. to noon is the scheduled time for grades nine through 12 to register for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year, and at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the same day, seventh and eighth grade are also scheduled for registration. From 9 a.m. to noon on August 18, new and exchange students are required to register, as well as make-ups. Optional purchases include $10 for the middle school yearbook, $60 for the high school yearbook, $5 for technology assurance plan and $5 for the middle school parent council membership fee. After May 1, yearbook prices will be $75.

Student high school activity passes are $50 a piece, individual adult high school activity passes are $75 and family passes are $150. Family passes are $180 with the participation fee.

Participation fees are $25 for middle school activities, $80 for high school activities including activity pass and $50 for high school band and choir including activity pass.

Student and Parent orientation begins 5:30 p.m. for seventh and eighth grade and 7 p.m. for grades 9 through 12 on Aug. 29.

School pictures are Sept. 2, and retakes will be on Oct. 10.

Seniors must have their color portraits taken early to meet the Nov. 2 deadline.

Basic student supply list includes 4-5 binders, lined filler paper, pencils, blue or black pens, scientific calculator and ear buds/headphones. Individual teachers may request additional items when school begins.

Seventh and Eighth grade math students require one binder, a scientific calculator (preferably a Texas Instrument 30) and a 12-inch ruler.Registration fees are $6 for lock deposit, $5 for shop/pottery class materials and $250 for driver education.

Aug. 31 is the first day of school.
