The Troy Trojans started the last weekend of the regular season on a high note, dropping the hammer on the Eureka Lions 56-37 on the road Friday night.

The Trojans’ offense racked up 28 points in each half of play, while their stingy defense kept the Lions off guard. Sean Opland led the Trojans 14 points and Mason Chapel chipped in another 11. Dillon Savage and Trinity Rice added eight each.

“This game was a total team effort,” said head coach Jerry Mee. “We were able to get out on the break some during the game, and we hit some three-point shots. Defensively, we did a nice job holding Eureka to 37 points. By winning this game we set up a play-in game Tuesday at our place against Eureka.”

The Trojans have beaten the Lions twice this season, heading into Tuesday’s playoff game.
