After suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of the Bigfork Valkyries Friday evening, the Lady Trojans traveled to Ronan, where they fell to the Maidens 44-38.

Troy’s girls started out strong, leading 10-6 after the first quarter, but fouls caught up to the Lady Trojans and with it the lead slipped away. The Lady Trojans managed to close the gap to just one point late in the game, but were not able to capitalize on the run and came out on the losing end.

“I was happy with the way the girls handled the adversity,” said head coach Justin Young. “It’s hard making a long bus trip after a crushing loss the night before. The girls came out, though, ready to play. If we could have avoided some foul trouble early in the game, things might have worked out differently. I was also happy with the way Allie Brown played this weekend. Even when things were going bad she set a tone with her play, that we were not going to quit and we were going to fight until the end. It was something we desperately needed this weekend.”

Allie Coldwell was the Lady Trojans’ leading scorer with 16 points. Aurora Becquart chipped in nine.
