The Troy Trojans traveled to Thompson Falls Saturday evening, but fell at the hands of the Bluehawks, 65-51.

The Trojans fought to an early lead after the first quarter, but without their usual top scorer were unable to hold on to the lead. Troy standout Sean Opland found himself in early foul trouble, which kept his usually high scoring in check for the contest.

“We had a great start offensively leading 20 to 19 after the first quarter,” said coach Jerry Mee. “The difference came in the second with T-Falls outscoring us 16 to four. Sean picked up his third foul early in the second quarter and we lost ground. In order to compete with a team the caliber of T-Falls we have to be hitting on all cylinders. Sean is one of our cylinders and without him it is tough. We did show that we can play with T-Falls if we play well.”

Adam Tallmadge led the Trojans with 14 points, Tucker Winn added 13 and Mason Chapel chipped in 10. Opland was limited to just eight on the night.

The Trojans are next up tonight on the road against Stillwater Christian Academy and return home Friday for a game against the Vikings of Bigfork.
