On April 7, 2016, the Glacier Family of Banks, which includes Glacier Bank of Kalispell, received the Innovation in Financial Education Award presented by Nasdaq and EverFi. This is the 2nd year running that the institution has received the award. Glacier Bank has offices across western Montana including Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Eureka, Libby, Bigfork, Lakeside, Polson, Ronan, Pablo, Anaconda and Butte. Honorees were selected based on a set of criteria that included the scale and reach of their financial education initiatives, the duration of their commitment, and unique employee volunteering activities that supplement their programs. Thirty-five institutions were honored with this distinction at a ceremony hosted at Nasdaq Marketsite in New York City. Glacier Bank Market President, Robert Nystuen commented, “Glacier Bank employees donate thousands of hours each year in service to organizations that advance our communities. By financing and supporting financial education in our schools we provide a tool our educators can utilize at no cost to ensure our young people have an understanding of financial literacy.” Administered by teachers in a classroom setting, the web-based course offers over six hours of programming on a variety of financial topics including credit scores, insurance, credit cards, student loans, mortgages, taxes, stocks, savings, 401k’s and other critical concepts that map to national financial literacy standards. Glacier Bank also offers online adult financial literacy education through the Financial Foundations for Adults Program. It is free to community members, customers and non-customers alike, and to community based organizations. The education is also provided to bank employees through the Wellness Program. For more information on the adult program please visit Glacier Bank’s website at www.glacierbank.com or contact a bank representative.
