The Lady Loggers soccer team had three matches in three days, coming up short against Whitefish, Bonners Ferry and Polson in the marathon.

The Lady Bulldogs rolled into Libby to play the Lady Loggers Thursday afternoon, and went home with a 6-1 victory. Whitefish’s Katie Blankenship scored three goals and assisted on another to help propel the Lady Bulldogs to the victory.

Allie Coldwell scored Libby’s first goal against Whitefish in three seasons, on an assist from Anna Carlson in the 31st minute. Shannon Reny continued her incredible work in the net with 13 saves.

The girls traveled to Bonners Ferry for a Friday matchup, coming away with a tough 2-1 loss.

“It was a very well played game, by both teams,” Libby coach Joe Cik said.

Saturday afternoon the girls returned home for a match with Polson. The Lady Pirates kicked their way to a 3-0 victory.

Polson’s Tiara Dunford assisted on two scores, one from Marina Mayorga and one from Jessica Taylor. Hanna Hobbs added an unassisted score for the Lady Pirates.

The Lady Loggers offense was more active in this game than in games past, getting seven shots on goal, but Polson goal-keeper Jenna Evertz handled them all.

Libby’s Shannon Reny had 15 saves for the Lady Loggers.

Coach Joe Cik praised his team for their effort.

“We still have a lot of season to play,” Cik said. “The ladies have really played well. They are playing with confidence no matter what is happening.”

The Lady Loggers are next up Thursday at Bigfork.
