Kevin Sanderson

50, of Libby

Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, was a beautiful day to go to Heaven for Kevin King Sanderson, age 50, of Libby, when he passed away peacefully after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 9, 1964, during a blizzard in Phillipsburg to Sandy and Carol Sanderson.

At age of three, Kevin moved to Libby with his family where his dad was going to work on the Libby Dam project. Kevin attended Libby schools, graduating in 1983. After graduating, he lived and worked in Libby. He had driven trucks since he was big enough to reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel. He got his first truck in 1984. He hauled countless loads of logs and gravel up and down the roads and highways of Montana. Most everyone knew Kevin for his self-proclaimed bag of trucker tricks.

Kevin married Terri Ann Postlethwaite on Sept. 18, 2004, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Together they raised their children, Sandra, Allie, Beau, Sean, Kelly Jo, Davie Jane and Jeremiah. He enjoyed outdoor activities with his family, especially hunting, camping and mostly fishing with his boys and his brother.

Kevin was known for his big smile, booming voice, infectious laugh and big heart. He has so many friends; it seems that everyone knows Kevin.

He was a member of Libby Christian Church. He loved his Lord, Jesus Christ with all his heart and rarely missed an opportunity to show it. One of his greatest joys was baptizing his son Beau. He was also a member of the NRA.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Terri Sanderson of Libby; children Sandra Sue of Bozeman, Allie, Beau, Sean Sanderson and Kelly Jo (Tim) Spencer of Libby, Davie Jane (Klint) Kinden and Jeremiah Larson of Alaska; his parents, Sandy and Carol Sanderson of Libby; sisters Julie Brossman and Leslie (Rick) Jaqueth; brother Bryon (Chelsea) Sanderson and grandchildren Carleigh and Taylor Spencer, all of Libby and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Joshua Andrew, in 1990; his grandparents and uncles Byron and Bobby Joe Sanderson.

He will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Our lives are so much richer having had him in our lives.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby, Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. A reception will be held at the Memorial Center following the graveside service.
