Trojans took advantage of smaller Loggers

Letter to the Editor:

We would like to congratulate our Logger football team for their perseverance and sportsmanlike conduct during the Libby-Troy football game last Friday.

The Troy football team and staff were well aware of their advantage over the size and strength of the Libby football team, almost all of them being freshman and sophomores. To take advantage and play in such a vicious and unsportsmanlike manner was very disturbing to see. Seven of our players got injured. Four of them ended up in the emergency room. One even had broken bones.

Whenever there is a time when a player should be ejected from the game, this should’ve been the time. There were plenty of penalties called for unnecessary roughness and conduct unbecoming of athletes.

This is a very young team and we are very proud of them. Best wishes to all of our injured and shame on the Troy Trojans and their staff.
