William Metts

| November 10, 2015 7:17 AM

William Presley Metts (Bill), 60, went to be with our Lord Oct. 26, 2015, at his home in Libby due to complications of a bone disorder. He was born Oct. 21, 1955, to Curtis Ray and Melba Dean Metts in Abilene, Texas.

Bill loved the Lord and rose early each day to worship and pray. He loved his family and prayed for all of them each morning.  He dearly loved the outdoors, especially the mountains of Alaska, Colorado and Montana and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by both parents, brother Larry Ray Metts and longtime loving companion Alice.

Survivors include his sisters Anna Cooper, Laura Popp (Mike) and Deborah Rotthoff; multiple nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; he also had many lifelong friends.  Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

An open celebration of Bill’s life will be held Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Vineyard Church in Canon City, Colo. Interment in Stanford will be held at a late date. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
