May 3

• A man on Idaho Avenue reported waking up to find a strange woman standing in his house. The woman was holding a cardboard box containing a small Christmas tree and lights. The woman said she was sent to pick up a plate and have it home by 9 a.m. She then went outside and tried to enter the man’s car. 

• A man on Libby Creek Road reported his back gate was broken and he caught a shadow on his surveillance camera.

• Two calls were made to 911 reporting a dog’s foot getting caught in a lawn mower on Vicks Drive. The dog was taken to Bonners Ferry for treatment.

• A man on Central Avenue reported an unknown vehicle parked at his gate. He said there was a suspicious person in his back yard last week and doesn’t recognize the vehicle.

 

May 4

Libby Police reported being out with a woman riding a bike to a local convenience store. She said she was having trouble with her flashlight and was returning home for more batteries before going to the store.

• A caller on Jennings Haul Road reported hearing shots fired and seeing vehicle lights. Deputies were unable to locate anything amiss.

• A caller reported a man running down the road with neither shirt nor shoes. The man was reportedly hitting himself in the face, then lying down in the road and crawling on his hands and knees. Officers were unable to locate the individual.

 

May 5

A man from Arabian Lane called to report seeing a strange vehicle parked at the end of his driveway. 

• A caller came into the dispatch lobby to ask deputies to remove a person from his property.

• A woman reported being nearly struck by a gray van on Sixth and Main.

• The manager of a local business reported a man on the side of his building fighting with a woman and beating on her vehicle. Both parties were gone when Libby Police arrived on the scene.

• A man called to report his estranged wife was moving campers from their property in violation of a court order.

• A caller reported finding old explosives while going through their neighbor’s old garbage after the neighbor moved out.

• A woman on Bowker Street reported being harassed by a man who shut off her water and power in violation of a restraining order. She was advised both actions occurred before the restraining order was issued.
