The Lady Loggers are moving forward in the State A softball tournament after shutting out Laurel, 3-0, in the tournament opener Thursday.

Libby’s star pitcher Hannah England was nearly perfect in the outing, fanning 10 batters during the two-hit shut out. Both hits were singles.

The Lady Loggers only managed three hits themselves during the game, by Mahalah Wedel, Dayln Germany and Devon Gallagher. Each of the hits resulted in a run batted in. The girls managed to capitalize on seven Laurel errors to get batters into scoring position.

The Lady Loggers face Belgrade in second-round action today.
