May 1

A caller from a local casino reported hearing noises behind the building and requested police assistance. Officers responded and walked through the premises. Nothing amiss was noted.

• A man was arrested near Spencer Road and Highway 2 by Sheriff’s deputies and Libby Police officers on charges of speeding, running a stop sign, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence, fourth or later offense.

• A woman on Woodland Road reported a domestic disturbance at her neighbors’ residence. She reported the neighbors fighting for most of the night and what sounded like objects being thrown against the wall. Responding officers were unable to locate the male half of the couple, as he had left the area on foot prior to their arrival.

• A man on Champion Haul Road called to report an unknown man in his residence. Officers entered the residence but were unable to locate any trespassers. The man reported seeing three people near his barn earlier in the day.

• An employee of a local church called to report a suspicious vehicle which had been parked in the lot for several days. The vehicle was unoccupied and the reporting party indicated they would try to contact the owner of the vehicle.

• A man on Highway 2 called to report his landlord was causing problems. The man said his landlord sent a sex offender to his door knowing he has children in the home.

• A caller on Highway 2 reported a dog running loose in the road and was afraid it was going to get hit by traffic. Animal control was notified because neighbors reported the dog is always loose.

• A property manager called to report a forced entry into a residence on Woodland Road. The window and door were disturbed in the attempt to enter.

• A person called en route to the hospital, reporting a dog had bitten their son at a local convenience store.

• A caller reported an out-of-control brush fire on Hutton Drive, threatening homes. Firefighters responded and controlled the blaze.

• A man from Iron Creek Road reported his ex-girlfriend destroyed his truck.

• A suspicious person was reported near the Libby Memorial Events Center. She was seen kicking the door and then lying on the ground. Police advised her to walk, not drive, home.

 

May 2

• Libby Volunteer Fire Department was paged to a house fire on the Fifth Street Extension at 9:26 a.m. They cleared the scene at 9:46 a.m.

• A woman on Highway 2 called to report her landlord was harassing her again. Officers responded and the landlord indicated he would not return again this weekend.

• A woman on Lincoln Blvd. called to report her black lab missing.

• A woman on Division Street called to report her neighbor’s dog running loose. The dog came onto her property and became aggressive toward the woman’s husband.

• A woman went to Troy Dispatch from Rabbit Obrien Creek Lake to report a trespasser on her property. Deputies were unable to locate any vehicles on the property.

• A man on Fifth Street Extension called to report the theft of his firewood. He told deputies he had witnesses who saw the theft. A 20-year-old man was arrested on the scene on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

• A caller reported finding a 9mm handgun in the parking lot of a local roadhouse.

• A woman called to report misplacing her Social Security card.

• A man called to report losing his DeWalt drill from his vehicle at a business on Highway 2.

• Several callers on Kootenai Drive reported seeing a Shetland pony with a red bandana roaming the neighborhood, grazing on grass. The owner, who was out looking for the animal, was located.

• A caller requested to speak with Fish and Game law enforcement about some dead deer found in the Troy area.

• A person went into the Troy Dispatch lobby to report neighbors harassing them.

 

May 3

• A woman on Forest Road reported her neighbor’s dog barking all night long and preventing her from sleeping.
