| May 8, 2015 9:03 AM

Reinette R. Dirks, 60, died on Monday, May 4, 2015, at her home in Libby. She was born on March 31, 1955, at Mandan, N.D., to Mike and Florence Schmidt. She grew up as the eighth child of nine, the baby of the girls. She was raised in Riverdale, N.D., and moved to Freewater, Ore., in 1972.

Reinette married Dean Dirks on July 1, 1974, at The Chapel of Love in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  They lived in Freewater, Ore., for 15 years and moved to Libby in 1989. She worked at Western Farmers until moving to Libby. She worked as a property manager for rentals in Libby.

She loved baking, was an avid outdoor person, enjoyed her flower gardens, lawn keeping and had her own vegetable garden and strawberry patch.

She was a child of Jesus Christ. She was a member and supporter of Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette, Ark. She wanted nothing from anyone except love and a friend to listen to and share her day with. The Ten Commandments were words she repeated every day to live by. She lived for sunshine.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Survivors include her husband Dean of Libby; children, Jeremy Dirks (Monica), Kuna of Idaho and Colleen Pings (Rick) of Kalispell; six brothers and sisters and six grandchildren, Kenadie, Kolten, Tamerak, Tianna, Cassidy and Lexie.
