June Alice Barnes

June Alice Barnes, 91, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the Libby Care Center.

June was born in Miami, Fla., June 17, 1923, to Charles W. and Eleanor Page Potterton. She was raised in Miami, Fla., and spent 26 years owning a fishing camp and trailer park on Lake Okeechobee, Fla. 

She had two sons, Thomas D. Vroegop (Marie) and Michael Vroegop (Robin); one grandson, Michael Ander, and a favorite neice, B.J.

She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Grace, Mira, Barbara and Martha; brother Charles, Jr.; first husband Dick Vroegop in 1947; second husband Howard Moorman in 1980 and third husband Leslie Barnes in 1998.

She spent 26 years owning a fishing camp and trailer park on Lake Okeechobee, Fla., and moved to Libby April 1, 1997, with her husband Leslie Barnes.

June was a member of the Red Hats, Minerva Club, Honey Bees and the hospital auxiliary. She was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church and helped peel potatoes at the senior citizens center for many years.

June loved her home and she liked to fish and garden. She loved the mountains and was a great supporter of Kootenai Pets for Life. She was blessed with many, many special friends.

A service will be held in her memory at Christ Lutheran Church in Libby at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17. At her request, her ashes will be spread in the Florida Everglades with her first husband, Dick.
