66, of Troy

Lawrence Michael Schull, 66, died Monday Dec. 14, 2015 at Columbia Falls.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1949, in Liberal, Kan., the youngest son of Russell Clarence and Christine “Elsa” (Murdock) Schull. His family moved to Libby in 1962.

Mike loved singing and playing the guitar. He had four older brothers and one sister. He grew up at Lake Okaga in the Yaak, Troy and Libby. He was in the Navy and spent much of his adult life in Spokane, Wash., and Post Falls, Idaho, near his brothers and sister. Mike spent his last years in Troy and Columbia Falls in the care of Shela Keltgen and her husband Ed who lovingly cared for him and made him a part of their family.

Mike was preceded in death by his son Michael William Thomas, his father Russell, his mother Elsa, his stepfather Wilbur McMillan and his siblings Jimmy Coll, Tommy Jene and Carol Ann (Schull) Johnson Boothman Cleveland and stepbrother Roy McMillan.

Survivors include his son Kelly John of Everette, Wash.; grandson Drew Freerksen of Elverson, Penn.; ex-wife Ida Mae (Curtiss) Nerdrum of Edmonds, Wash.; brothers Russell and Lois Schull of Spokane, Wash., and Billy and Nan Schull of Libby and stepsister Judy (McMillan) Heika of Staten Island, N.Y., as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the Troy cemetery Friday Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. Mike was honored with a military funeral and the American Flag was presented to his brother Billy Schull.
