James Schnoberger

88, of Libby

James William Schnoberger, 88, of Libby, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at the Libby Care Center. He was born March 2, 1927 in Seattle, Wash., to William E. and Grace (Huber) Schnoberger. He grew up in the White Center area of Seattle and attended Highline Public Schools. In 1945, James joined the United States Navy and served until August of 1946.

Over the years, James worked as a security officer at the Sea-Tac Airport in Washington and also as a security officer for Boeing. While at work at the airport, James met his wife Jill and they were married in 1959. Following his years as a security officer, James also worked in maintenance at hospitals.

James always loved to fish, especially for salmon. He also enjoyed golfing and very much loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Grace.

Survivors include his wife Jill of Libby; his children Julie Cole, William Schnoberger, Michael Schnoberger, Joan Schnoberger, Shelley True, Danielle Schnoberger, Michael Bridges, Joyce Mayovaski, and Virginia Grover; granddaughter Nicholle Schnoberger; great-granddaughters Ariana and Amya; and numerous nieces and nephews.
