Iris Remp

82, of Libby

Iris Eleanor Remp, 82,  a longtime Libby resident and spouse of deceased Raymond Remp, died peacefully with family on Saturday, Dec. 5 at her home. Iris was born Aug. 15, 1933, to Charles and Alice Biggers of Sweet, Idaho. She was raised and educated in Sweet, Idaho, and graduated with the Class of 1951.

Iris attended secretarial school and was working as a secretary when she met Raymond Remp while he was attending the university in McCall, Idaho. They married on Dec. 6, 1953, in Boise, Idaho.

Iris settled in Libby with Ray to raise a family of six children. She was the ultimate homemaker passing along her knowledge of sewing, gardening, canning and crocheting to her children. In  addition to being a mother and housewife she also kept busy managing her smoke fish business, selling Luzier cosmetics, and handling the bookkeeping for their family business, Remp’s Sand & Gravel for 33 years. Iris and Ray retired together in in 1998.

In retirement she found another passion of re-selling antiques with her Kloset Klutter business. She was truly an entrepreneur.

Iris enjoyed her retirement with Ray golfing in the summer and bowling in the winter. Plus they always looked forward to their winter time in Nevada with their “snow-bird friends”, golfing, gambling and having a great time. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2003.

After Raymond passed away in 2005, Iris continued her passion of golfing in the summer with the Cabinet View Ladies Leagues and bowling during the winter season.

Iris also enjoyed spending time with her 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed making the holidays memorable for her family.

Iris was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Remp and her son Ronald Remp.

Survivors include: children, Randy Remp and wife Linda, Russell Remp and wife Kathy, both of Libby, Roxanne McCallum and husband John of Commerce, Mich., Renee Schad and husband Al, of Libby, and Robert Remp and wife Darla of Kent, Wash., daughter-in-law Susan Stotts, of Redding, Calif.; two brothers, Orville Biggers and wife Jo of Grangeville, Idaho, and Ken Biggers and wife Mary Lee of Boise, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and care providers Tracy Nelson, Rayanne Moxley and Mary Schertel.
