David Johnson

54, of Libby

David Edward Johnson, 54, of Libby was taken home to be with his Holy Father on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015. David was born May 26, 1961, in Missoula to Richard and Barbara (Lescantz) Johnson. At the age of two, he moved with his parents and five siblings to Libby where he grew up being loved and nurtured by all. He attended the Libby Public Schools.

David was kind hearted and was always ready to help anyone who needed help.  He didn’t have to be asked—he was just there.

He grew up loving the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and picking huckleberries. One of his favorite stories was when he and a friend had picked berries in five gallon buckets to sell but a bear found them and “put the run”  on the two of them. They went home empty handed and with hang-down faces. Even then they had to laugh. David laughed easy and was always happy.

He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Duain and three nephews, Chris, Teddy, and Tom.

Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Noble and husband, Tom, and three grandchildren all of Libby; his mother, Barbara (Bobbi) Rucker; brothers Howard and wife of Lake Bay, Wash.; Ted Johnson (Sue); and Gerald Johnson (Dianna) and his sister, Mona Hutchinson (Jim), who was very special in his life.

Private family services will be held at a later date with his oldest brother doing the service.  Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory of Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
