There will be a job fair on Monday, Aug. 24, from noon until 4 p.m. at the Kootenai Job Service office located at 417 Mineral Avenue in Libby.

Knack Media will be opening up a call center and will be looking to hire 15 people. Anybody looking for a job is encouraged to show up and apply.

“Everyone can apply,” Kevin Leonard, the CEO and Chairman of Knack Media, said. “It’s a trainable position. They will be sitting in front of a computer and talking on the phone. We will teach them the scripts for the calls. The position will pay $12 to $16 per hour and we are looking to hire 15 people right away. We can hire up to 40 or 45 people. We have a number of call centers and have over 3,000 employees.”

The call center will offer online media solutions for small businesses.

“We help small businesses with their social media promotions,” Leonard said. “We offer professional web design, ranging from edgy to corporate. Our goal is to drive more business and attention to their sites. We achieve that by creating a website that is alluring to their clientele. We help with their social networking by utilizing social media. We tap into a whole new base that they never knew existed. Social media is a way for a company to reach people who they may not have otherwise been able to connect with. Opening that gate is a must for any company and that connection with possible clients is unmeasured.”

Zach McNew, a Troy resident and Libby area businessman, has been a driving force in bringing the call center to Libby.

“I’ve been working with Knack Media to bring a call center to Libby for quite some time,” McNew said. “I’ve been thinking about bringing a call center to Libby for a couple of years and we started to gain traction. People from the port authority and the Kootenai Job Service office have been great in helping make this happen. It will be a social media marketing firm. We will be helping small businesses with their social media marketing plans. The call center will create the sales leads and work with the client to make sure their social media pages are being updated daily.”

McNew said the partnership with Knack Media will help the people of Lincoln County.

“The group we partnered up with has opened up call centers before and have a good success rate,” he said. “We wanted to do something for Libby. We have a high unemployment rate here in Lincoln County and we are hoping this call center helps turn things in the right direction.”

McNew said that people who are comfortable talking on the phone should stop by for the upcoming job fair.

“What we are looking for is people with sales experience,” he said. “But, really it’s for anybody that is outgoing and personable. You can be a high school dropout, but if you can talk on the phone and be personable you’ll do well.”

McNew said that the starting pay will range from $12 to $16 per hour.

“The starting wages will be anywhere from $12 to $16,” he said. “We will start with one shift and it will be an 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. shift. We hope to grow, but we will start with just the one shift.”

McNew said things have taken off in the past few weeks and the call center will open its doors early in the fall.

“We are looking to have the doors open and have the sales team ready by October 1,” he said. “We are still searching for an office. We found one on Mineral Avenue, but we haven’t signed the lease on it yet. We are moving pretty quickly as things are coming down the pipeline and we are excited to bring this opportunity to the people of Lincoln County.”
