May events at the libraries

May is a month full of events at the Lincoln County Library. All events are free and open to the general public.

The Libby library will host story time for preschool age children every Tuesday at 10 a.m. and the afterschool program every Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The Troy library will host story time for preschool age children every Friday at 11:15 a.m. and chess games every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Eureka library will host story time for preschool age children every Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

• May 1: Libby Friends of the Library book sale begins at 10 a.m. Enter through the Main Street entrance.

• May 2: Libby Friends of the Library special book sale featuring children’s and young adult titles.

• May 7: the annual Lincoln County Poetry Extravaganza at the Hot Club in Troy, featuring Montana Poet Laureate Tami Haaland.

• May 12: Board of Trustees meeting, 5:30 p.m. at the Libby library.

• May 22: All branches closed for an in-service training.

• May 23: All branches closed for Memorial Day.

• May 29: Amnesty Day. All overdue materials less than 90 days overdue and returned in good condition will have all penalties waived. Overdue interlibrary loan materials are not included.

• May 30: Book discussion of Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.
