Feb 14

• Libby Police responded to a call from Louisiana Avenue for an alleged assault. A man was arrested and charged with the offense.

• An alarm going off at a business on California Avenue caused police to respond. They found a delivery door caused the signal and waited for a responsible party.

• Police were called to respond to a local casino that wished to have a patron removed. A no trespass order was served to the person.

• A man from Timberlane reported an item was taken from his vehicle.

• A caller on Florence Avenue reported a situation of possible elder abuse.

• Criminal trespass was reported by a caller on Glenns Shores Drive.

• Calling from a local apartment complex, a man reported that he had lost his wallet somewhere between the dollar store and Asa Wood.

• A caller on Airfield Road reported that some change and keys were missing from his vehicle.

• Although a man thought his vehicle was locked, his CDs were reported taken from his vehicle on Wisconsin Avenue.

• The fire department responded to a call from Wisconsin Avenue of a fire and possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

 

Feb. 15

• A caller on Sixth Street requested an officer to check on the house where she was dropping off a family member because the door was wide open. 

• Sheriff’s officers responded to a call on Highway 2 of a 58-year old man who was assaulted in a vehicle returning to Troy from the Yaak. The injured man was transported to Bonners Ferry.

• A caller from a local eatery reported the theft of a wallet.

• A 37-year old man was arrested at a local place of business for failure to appear in court.

• A woman on Poplar Street reported a man she sold a car to had not paid the amount owed and had not removed the old license plates.

• Evicted tenants at a California Avenue residence that had not left at the time they were supposed to resulted in a call to dispatch for police assistance.

 

Feb. 16

• A man on Reese Court reported his vehicle had been stolen. Deputies responded and arrested two men driving the stolen vehicle near Larch Street and Highway 2.

• A caller from Albert Way reported a case of identity theft.

 

Feb. 17

• A caller on Farm to Market Road called dispatch to report being attacked by squirrels. The squirrels allegedly pulled his hair and threatened that other squirrels would be coming to his house.

• A local shop reported the theft of a four-wheeler.

• A caller on California Avenue reported the presence of a suspicious silver sedan. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspicious vehicle.

 

Feb. 18

• A caller on Park Street reported a neighbor’s dog for barking all the time.

• A woman called dispatch because her estranged husband changed the lock on their storage unit and she couldn’t get to her things.

• Deputies responded to Marl Lake Road to handle a theft complaint.

• A man on Park Street reported the theft of a chainsaw from his motor home.

• A caller on Trainer Road reported the theft of change from his unlocked pickup truck.

• A man reported the theft of a freezer from his storage shed.

• A caller on Scenery Road requested police assistance after his car alarm went off. Responding deputies were unable to find anything suspicious.

• A woman from Minnesota Avenue called to report a domestic assault.

• A caller reported his boss hit a deer with a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 37 and Airfield Road.

• A 33-year-old man was arrested for a probation violation near Minnesota Avenue.

 

Feb. 19

• A man from Manor Drive reported the theft of items from his vehicle some time in the past few weeks.

• A man from Lewis Loop reported hearing his shed door close and requested police assistance. Deputies responded but found nothing.

• A man was arrested on Spruce Street on an assault charge.

• An anonymous caller reported an intoxicated man driving from Troy to Libby.

 

Feb. 20

• A woman on Sixth Street reported a young man in gray sweats and a dark hoodie was looking into her vehicle.

• A man on Forest Avenue reported two missing pets, a beagle named Sammy and a German shepherd.

• A woman on Crossway Street reported a scam call from the I.R.S. threatening to have her arrested if she didn’t pay past due taxes immediately.

• A local motel manager reported finding drug paraphernalia in one of the motel’s rooms.

• Montana Highway Patrol arrested a 54-year-old man on a warrant for privacy in communications.

• A suspicious male boarded a school bus with a knife. The driver and aide were able to get him off the bus. A 57-year-old man on Terrace View Road was arrested.

• A man on Vaughn Lane reported being attacked by his neighbor’s dog.

 

Feb. 21

• A woman on Commerce Way called to report someone pounding on her neighbor’s door at 2:30 a.m.

• A 30-year-old man was arrested on Woodland Heights Drive for violating his parole.

• A woman called to report her daughter heard voices coming from the old Pioneer Motel. Responding deputies were unable to locate anyone on the premises.

• A woman near the Asa Wood school called to report being followed by a strange dog which prevented her from going home. A dispatcher went out and collected the dog. The owner was later located and the dog returned to him.

• A caller from Commerce Way reported a person playing loud music in a vehicle parked next door.

• A man reported someone attempting to enter his residence by twisting the door knob about an hour ago. When he opened the door, a person fled into a nearby wooded area. 

• A caller from a gas station in Troy reported a gold Dodge Nitro was taken from the station. Law enforcement from neighboring counties were notified. It was later determined the call was unfounded.
