Area sports fans face a busy weekend schedule of Libby and Troy athletics. Events begin 10 a.m. Friday when the Libby golf team hosts their annual invitational at Cabinet View Golf Club. Despite school only recently opening, the golf schedule is nearing completion of their season as temperatures continue to dip.

“I think we may have a bit of a frost delay,” Libby Coach Dann Rohrer said. “We expect every team in the Western A to be there beside Frenchtown.”

Libby soccer will continue the action at 4 p.m. when the girls kickoff in Troy against Laurel. The boys team will take the pitch at 6 p.m.

Those looking for American football will find it Friday in Libby and Troy. The Trojans host Ronan at 7 p.m. while the Loggers host Hamilton at the same time.

Saturday activities start at 10 a.m. when the Libby boys soccer team hosts Billings in Libby. The girls will compete at noon. At 2 p.m. Troy volleyball will face Deer Lodge in Plains. Libby volleyball hits the court at 4:15 p.m. when the team hosts Whitefish.

The Logger cross-country team will be the only local squad on the road when they run through Couer d’Alene, Idaho on Saturday.
