Flathead County clerk and recorder says Lauer is right choice

| October 31, 2014 2:16 PM

As the current Flathead County clerk and recorder, I’m well aware of the challenges in providing good governance to Flathead County taxpayers.

For the past eight years Tammy Lauer, Lincoln County clerk and recorder, has managed the diverse and complex functions of the elected office she holds. Under the state constitution and statutory laws, the Lincoln County clerk has been given two distinct titles. The two titles are comprised of three departments; recording, finance and elections. The three departments are staffed by six employees, and Lauer serves as the recording secretary of the board of county commissioners and as the principal officer responsible for the assembly of the annual $36 million budget for commission approval.

It goes without saying that the office requires competent and dedicated individuals with technical, management and organizational skills necessary for administering the elected office.

I have worked closely with Lauer for the past eight years, and I believe - hands down - that Lauer is the only candidate who has both the strategic vision and working knowledge necessary for this position.

On Nov. 4, please confidently cast your vote for Lauer as the re-elected Lincoln County clerk and recorder.
