Bowe is a dedicated sheriff who deserves your vote

Letter to the Editor:

For months I have listened to the nonsense spread about Sheriff Roby Bowe, and I feel that it is time to speak out.

I have come to know Bowe over the last few years, and I find him to be a very honest person. I firmly believe that the professional decisions he makes are in the best interest of the community.

Many people don’t know that in addition to all of the community-oriented projects Bowe is involved in, he also donates his personal time to take at-risk youth into the mountains hiking and clearing trails.

The Sheriff’s Office is run in a professional manner and the employees are well taken care of. The few that may be complaining will probably never be satisfied anyway. 

I have been in leadership positions in the military and in my civilian career. I have had excellent supervisors in both realms, and I would happily work for Bowe. He rates among the best I have known.

There is a lot of talk about Roby’s “availability.” I have snow-shoed in the Cabinet Mountains and chased lions in the Libby area with him after work or on weekends many times. I have lost count of the times he has stopped on the side of a mountain to take a call from the office or the public.  He doesn’t “turn work off” on his personal time, and it actually can get irritating. I’ve left him behind on the trail a few times.

Finally, I am proud of the way he has run his campaign. I respect the fact that he has not stooped to the level of his opponents and their supporters in their unfounded mud-slinging tactics.

If you want what’s best for Lincoln County, re-elect Sheriff Bowe.
