Dick Wernham and Kathy Powers were recognized as Citizens of the Month by Rotary member Mick Shea at a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley. Dick has served on the Libby Ambulance for 24 years. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Libby Dam Interpretive Association which runs the Visitor Center bookstore which serves to enhance the facilities at the dam. He contributes to the Libby Schools Science Olympiad and works on the Habitat For Humanity building projects. He and his wife Kathy contribute the Girl Scouts program. Kathy Powers has been a Girl Scout Leader in Libby for two decades. She has given not just of her time but her personal resources to make the scouting program available for junior and senior high school girls Kathy mentored hundreds of our communitiy's girls into young women who are all better citizens for their time and interaction with her.
