Thomas Shupick, 60, of Libby

Thomas Patrick Shupick, 60, of Libby passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. 

He was born March 19, 1954, in Eagle Butte, S.D. to Steve and Jean (Dunbar) Shupick. Tom was the fourth born of 10 children and grew up on a ranch just outside of Eagle Butte.  

He graduated from high school and later went to work for the railroad. Tom worked for several different railroads before his retirement. He arrived in Montana a little over 30 years ago and said he had found God’s country. 

Tom met Wanda out dancing and they have danced the past 28 years together. Together they built their dream house, and he always said they had a “million dollar view.” 

He was preceded in death by an infant son; niece Stephanie; grandparents; and father Steve in June of this year.

He leaves behind his wife Wanda (Brown); mother Jean Shupick of Sioux Falls, S.D.; daughter Deni (Scott) Amundson of South Dakota; brothers Steve, Fran (Judy), Charlie (Wendy), Mark (Darla), all of South Dakota, Richard (Kathleen) of Wyoming, and Mike (Shana) of Texas; sisters Cheryl (Jim) Ferguson of Minnesota, Sharon (John) Larson of Texas, and Marie (Scott) Marks of North Carolina; sisters-in-law Leone Harner and Dedi Coy of Libby; adopted son Jim (Julie) Hutt; many, many great-nieces and nephews; two very special grandsons Kyle and Ben; his special dog JJ; and his many friends in Troy and Libby.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Tom’s house, 7715 Lake Creek Road in Troy. There will be a memorial pool tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at the VFW in Troy.
