Troy puts up runs, drops four games

The Lady Trojan softball team was swept by Loyola Sacred Heart during a Saturday doubleheader on the road.
In the first game, Troy scored three runs in the third, responding offensively after allowing 10 runs in the second inning. Leadoff batter Tana Thill and first baseman Caitlin Johnston picked up Troy’s only two hits.
In the second game, Troy’s pitching improved but the bats went nearly silent. Johnson produced the Lady Trojans only hit.
In earlier action, the Lady Trojans dropped a pair at home Thursday to conference foe Thompson Falls. Troy lost the first game 29-7, but hung tough in the second game, falling 18-9.
