Kent A. Whitehouse, 67, of Libby

Kent A. Whitehouse, 67, of Libby died Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home in Libby from natural causes.  

Kent was born June 30, 1946 in Libby, to Duane and Mildred (Baeth) Whitehouse. Kent grew up in Libby and attended the Libby Public School system. Kent graduated from Libby High School with the Class of 1965. He entered the United States Army in 1966 and served one tour in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, Kent moved to Colorado where he attended a gunsmith school. Kent returned to Libby, where he worked as a private contractor bidding on and doing thinning jobs throughout the Kootenai National Forest. Kent enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and was famous for building large campfires.  

Survivors include his mother Mildred Whitehouse of Libby; sister Sara Whitehouse of Libby; nephew Erik Aver of Spokane, Wash.; and numerous extended family members.

Services will be Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 1 p.m.  at Christ Lutheran Church in Libby.  

Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
