After a season apart on the hardwood, identical twins Katie and Kellie Lundin will share their senior seasons on the tennis court as Troy’s top doubles duo. Last year’s sixth-place finishers at the state tournament, the Lundins will look to improve under second-year Coach Milo Rogers.

Twenty students came out for tennis this year with a near-even split, 11 boys and nine girls.

“We have a lot of newer players,” Assistant Coach Nancy Prieve said. “It’ll be a fun season.”

Returning seniors Michael Goe and Dominic Chiaverni will likely lead the boys. This season will also mark the return of Luke Haggerty, who played his freshman year, after a two-year hiatus. Haggerty will pull double spring duty as he is also a member of the Libby Logger Legion baseball team.

Along with Rogers, the Trojans are coached by Prieve and her husband, Steve, who served as coach for 20 years and counted Rogers as one of his many pupils.

“We’re looking forward to a good season,” Rogers said. “We have a lot of juniors.”

The Trojans open their season Saturday in Missoula, where the team will face Loyola and Valley Christian.
