Barbara Wilburn, 81, of Oregon

Barbara E. Wilburn, 81, of Grants Pass, Ore., died June 21, 2014, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held in September 2014. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements. Please sign the family guest book at www.since1928hull.com.

 Barbara was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Florence, Ariz., to Ralph and Ila Morin. At a young age, she moved with her family to Montana and settled in Arlee where she attended a small country school up Valley Creek. 

In 1950 she graduated from Arlee High School with honors and as valedictorian. She went on to receive her associate of arts degree. Barbara met and married Jack Holt and they had a daughter, Leslie, before they divorced. In 1953 she married Harold Wilburn, and together they had six children, raising them on a small farm on the Kootenai River.  

Barbara was employed by the City of Libby, the State of Montana and Lincoln County as a dispatcher and record clerk. Due to her husband’s health, they moved to Spokane, Wash., and two years ago moved from Newport, Wash., to Grants Pass. Barbara loved reading, gardening, canning, cooking and playing cards. She was a giver at heart and spent her time caring for other people.  She loved spending time with family and preparing large family dinners.

 Survivors include six children, Linda Masterson and husband Gary of Tillamook, Ore., Bob Wilburn and wife Barbara of Libby, Scot Wilburn and Larry Wilburn both of Spokane, Wash., Jerry Wilburn of Libby, and Karen Nelson and husband Mike of Grants Pass, Ore.; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wilburn; her parents, Ralph and Ila Morin; three brothers Ralph “Bob” Morin, Richard Morin, Jerry Morin; a sister, Carol Sue Mapston; and a daughter,
