James (Jim) Frank McBride of Libby, a longtime resident passed away in his home on Feb. 1, 2014.

Jim was born in Portland Oregon on Oct. 27, 1966.  He attended Libby High School then served in the Navy. Jim drove long- haul trucks before working at Stimson Lumber Mill. After the mill shut down, he worked for Big Sky Power Equipment in Libby.

Jim spent his young childhood years in Ripple Brook, Ore., and Carson, Wash., before moving to Libby in 1978.

All of these areas were small rural communities in the mountains surrounded by lakes, rivers and an abundance of wildlife. It’s the life of the outdoors that he loved. Jim was his happiest   hunting, fishing, hiking and snowmobiling.

His family will always talk about many hunting stories with fond memories and a lot of laughter. He loved his family and had many friends in Libby as well as across the country.

He is survived by his fiancée, Heidi Walston; parents, Jim and Gloria McBride; sister and brother-in-law, Jerry and Robin Benson of Libby; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy McBride and Robert Clark of Spokane, Wash.; and, better known as Uncle Jimmy, nieces and nephews, Robert Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins, Michael McBride and Kaitlyn Clark.
