Phyllis Urdahl

Phyllis Marie (Rubard) Urdahl died, after an extended illness, on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014. She passed on in her home at McAllen, Texas, with all of her children at her bedside.

Phyllis was born in Libby to John I. Rubard and Emma J. (Engler) Rubard. She attended Libby Grade and Junior High Schools and graduated with the Libby High School Class of 1950.

Phyllis began her working career at the Sunrise Cafe in Libby. After several more jobs in Spokane and Centralia, Wash., and New Braunfels, Texas, she would eventually enter and serve in the Federal civilian workforce for a total of 37 years.

She held various clerical, executive administration, and investigation support positions within the Office of Rent Stabilization of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, United States Air Force, Postal Service Inspector’s Office, Bureau of Customs and finally, for 24 continuous years, with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, retiring with honors in 1997.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her older brothers James and Raymond Rubard; older sister Betty Maston; and her former husband James E. Urdahl.??She is survived by her children Russell Urdahl, Barbara Hare and Marilyn Davenport.

A memorial service for friends and family and internment of her ashes are planned for the spring or summer of 2015 in Libby.
