Libby's Wilkins shines on the links

Morgan Wilkins of Libby prevented a clean sweep for the Polson golfers at the Libby Invitational on Friday at Cabinet View Golf Course.

Wilkins shot an 83 to claim medalist honors for the boys.

Polson claimed all the other honors, winning team titles for boys and girls and having the medalist in girls play with Jaylin Kenney, who shot an 84.

Polson’s Alex Killian was the individual runner-up for boys. He shot an 85. Polson’s Nicole Clairmont shot 87 to finish second.

“Morgan continues to get better and does a good job of providing senior leadership for this group,” Coach Dann Rohrer said. “Seniors want to win their own tournament, so I was happy for him. This course showed itself to be one of the tougher tests of golf the kids play.”

Wilkins will lead the Loggers as they head into Whitefish for divisionals. Play starts at 10 a.m. Thursday on the south course.
