Missoula man charged in hacking

MISSOULA — A 27-year-old Missoula man is among 13 people indicted for being members of the hacking group Anonymous that has targeted the websites of groups or businesses that oppose the Anonymous philosophy of making all information free for everyone, regardless of copyright laws or national security issues.

The Missoulian reports 27-year-old Wade Carl Williams and the others are charged with conspiracy to intentionally damage protected computers. He made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Great Falls on Oct. 4 and is scheduled to appear in federal court in Virginia on Friday.
