Dean Johnson, 75, of Libby

Dean Johnson, 75, a longtime resident of Libby, died at his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.  

Born at St. Maries, Idaho, on April 6, 1938, to Orville and Frances (Sikkenga) Johnson, Dean was raised and educated at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. 

He came to the Libby area with his family in 1957.

He worked for Bache Brothers Logging, Co., for a period of time and later for W.R. Grace for many years. He later relocated temporarily to Winnemucca, Nev., where he worked in mining until retiring and returning to Libby in 1990.  

Dean loved the Montana outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and hiking and enjoyed spending time with family and friends alike.

Surviving are his children, Brenda Brunscher of Coeur d’Alene, and Danny Johnson of Everett, Wash.; his brother, Richard Johnson of Bull Lake; and a granddaughter, Sarah Neuman.
