Jack A. Drake, 69, of Libby

Jack A. Drake, 69, of Libby died after a brief illness on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his home.  

He was born Aug. 1, 1943, at The Dalles, Ore., to Alvin and Katherine (Thomas) Drake. He grew up and attended school in Oregon.

Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1961 and served his country until June 1964. 

He moved to Libby where he met Betty, and they were married in 1965. They resided in Libby where they raised their son, Brad. 

Jack was a logger who worked hard, loved to laugh and have fun. He loved his family, friends and living in Montana. He was also a chainsaw carver and an avid NASCAR fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Bud, Frank, and Bill.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Drake of Libby;  a son, Brad (Kim), grandson Cameron, all in North Carolina; a sister, Darlene of Bellingham, Wash.; a brother, Fred (Heidi) of Libby; brother-in-law, Tom (Bonny) of Spokane; numerous nieces and nephews, great friends and his little dog Ringo. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Church of the Nazarene in Libby.  

Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
