Treasure Mountain Casino, Restaurant and Lounge owners Mike and Dori Munro know the importance the Memorial Center plays in Libby, so to benefit the performing arts center they are hosting a fundraiser this Friday, June 28.

Entitled Blues, Booze and Barbecue, the  event begins at 6 p.m. Friday with the barbecue to nourish the body, and then will feature the music of the Back Adit Band and Alan Lane beginning at 8 p.m. to nourish the mind and soul.

The menu for the evening will include barbecue ribs, brisket and bratwurst from the grill. To complement the meats, the Munros are offering beans, barbecue Cajun corn, potato salad and cole slaw.

In addition to all the food, the event will feature various spirits from 6 to 8 p.m., including beer from Kootenai Brewing Co. of Bonners Ferry, wine samples from Fun Beverage and liquor from Young Distributing.

Tickets for the outdoor event are $25.

Munro said virtually every family in Libby benefits from the Memorial Center.

“It is our backbone for large events,” Munro said. “We need to keep it special, and that takes a lot of money.”

Munro said he has noticed the need for maintenance at the center, and it’s for that reason, he and Dori are behind this effort.

“It takes a lot of effort to keep it in top shape,” he said.

Tickets are available at Treasure Mountain and various other locations.
