Loren Jacobson has been named the interim chief financial officer at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.

Jacobson stepped into the role on Jan. 14.

No stranger to healthcare in Montana, Jacobson has worked at St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center in Missoula, St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, and more recently at Madison Valley Medical Center in Ennis.  He has also held various positions assisting other critical- access hospitals in both Montana and in Arizona on interim assignments.

“I plan to work with the hospital board, CEO, medical staff, leadership team and staff to develop a shared common vision of the medical center’s financial position, which is required to meet the healthcare needs we intend to serve,” said Jacobson when asked what he has planned during his time at St. John’s.

Jacobson has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Montana, and is also a licensed certified public accountant.

Jacobson is a welcome addition to the St. John’s team with his wealth of experience in the world of hospital finance, said CEO Bruce Whitfield.

“We are thrilled to have Loren’s expertise at St. John’s,” said Whitfield.  “I have had the privilege of working with him in the past, and am delighted to have the opportunity again.  His vast experience, along with his financial and operational knowledge and leadership will provide a great benefit to our organization until we can permanently fill the role of CFO.”
