Would you like to spend less money when you buy local goods and services?

Of course you would. That’s a stupid question.

Do you like to find great deals online?

Yeah, I know – another ridiculous question.

So, I’ll cut to the chase and tell you about Kootenai Deals, a new website coming to Lincoln County on March 1 that will help you save money when you shop at your favorite local merchants.

I’m not talking about chump change. Many of the products and services featured at www.KootenaiDeals.com will be available at half price, or they will be marked down hundreds of dollars below the lowest available in-store price.

These deals will be offered exclusively at www.KootenaiDeals.com.  You won’t be able to match the prices anywhere else because Kootenai Deals is partnering with local merchants to provide limited-time offers on overstocked items, new inventory and specialty services.

Signing up is easy: Just visit www.thewesternnews.com and click on the Kootenai Deals ad. Then, simply enter your name and email address. There is no charge to sign up, and there are no hidden fees.

If you register today, you will be eligible to win a $500 gift certificate to Managhan’s Furniture, a $50 gift certificate to Shoes and Socks, or a $50 gift certificate to Teez ’N Hair Studio. Winners will be announced in an upcoming edition of The Western News.

But the real fun starts March 1 when www.KootenaiDeals.com will begin featuring daily deals and other discounts from local dentists, restaurants, hair salons, furniture stores and much more. New deals will be unveiled daily.

Here’s how it works: After you sign up, you will have access to all of the deals featured at www.KootenaiDeals.com. When you see a deal that appeals to you, just click the “buy now” button before time runs out. You will receive a receipt – you can print it out or have it sent to your email inbox – that is redeemable at the participating business.

After that, just sit back and feel good about all the money you saved.

The whole customer experience is a lot like eBay or Amazon, except Kootenai Deals offers big savings. And shopping at Kootenai Deals is still “shopping local” because you are still patronizing local businesses that choose to participate.

I hate to ruin the suspense, but here’s an example of a deal you will see at Kootenai Deals starting in March: Managhan’s Furniture will sell a $200 gift certificate for only $100. The gift certificate will be good for anything in the store, and it will be applied to the lowest marked price of the item or items that you choose. So, if you find an item already on sale, Managhan’s will allow you to take an additional $200 off the lowest-marked sale price.

That’s it. End of story. You just saved $100.

These daily deal websites have become very popular in other markets across the region, such as Coeur d’ Alene and Kalispell. If you get curious about Kootenai Deals prior to March 1, just log on to www.FlatheadDeals.com or www.BuyNowNorthest.com to see for yourself how it works.

Or, if you own a business and want to know more about Kootenai Deals, call me or your ad rep at The Western News to get the whole scoop.

It’s great way to shop local, shop online and save big bucks. And it’s coming soon to a computer screen near you.
