Hospice Tree of Life set for tonight

| December 13, 2013 10:13 AM

The Home Options Hospice Tree of Life is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, Dec. 13,  at the Libby Christian Church.

This year marks the 25th season.

Though the name and venue have changed during time, the beauty and healing power of the ceremony endures. Many names familiar to the Libby/Troy communities have been read for 10 years or more, adding an important sense of tradition to those who still grieve at the holidays.

For a donation of $10 or more, Hospice sends a lovely tree ornament commemorating the year to the person or persons the donor designates. Along with the ornament, the recipient receives an invitation to the Tree of Life event, informing them that their loved one’s name will be called that night, and a light will be lit in honor of them.

The ceremony includes the Kootenai Valley Bell Choir,  a special vocal presentation and ends with light refreshments to complete the evening.

Tree of Life provides a deeply meaningful opportunity to reach out to friends and family who will be missing loved ones at the holiday season.

Anyone interested in participating in this year’s Tree of Life should call Home Options Hospice at 283-7300, and ask for a Tree of Life order form. Or, stop by the offices in the St. John’s Community Services building at 313 Montana Ave. during business hours.
