Archery club begins

indoor shooting

The Libby Archery Club’s winter indoor shooting range will open Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lincoln Lanes in Libby.

First, however, there will be a necessary clean-up time from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Shooting for members will begin afterward.

Archers must be a member to take advantage of the indoor shooting program.

The fee for adults is $20 and $10 for youth 12 to 17. The membership and range fee covers the cost of renting the indoor shooting space, purchasing target bags and paper targets, as well as paying for insurance.

The fee includes membership and the shooting cost for four months.

Libby Archery Club is staffed by volunteers and is a non-profit club.

Teams will be forming for those interested in league shooting, which will begin in January.

For additional information contact Teri Kelly at 293-0911.

Cross-country ski

rental is Saturday

The Kootenai Cross-Country Ski Club will hold its annual ski rental day from 9 a.m. til noon this Saturday, Dec. 7,  in the music wing of Libby Elementary School.

The cost remains the same, $35 for the first package and $30 for the other family members.

Of those amounts, $10 per person is a refundable deposit.

Club member Susie Rice will coordinate the rental, and she stresses the necessity for the person for whom the equipment is intended be present to fit appropriately.   Rice said this is especially vital for the ski boots.

As skis are rented on a first-come, first-served basis, Rice urges renters to come early.
