Kay Alex, 87, of Libby

| August 23, 2013 3:40 PM

Kay Alex went peacefully to be with her loving Lord and Savior on Aug.  20, 2013.  She was in the presence of her family.

Kay was born on Sept. 5, 1925, to Albert and Bessie Maggart in Conrad.  She was raised in Libby along with her brothers, Frank, Fred, Francis and James Sichting.

She met her husband John Alex in Spokane, Wash., and they were married at Fort George Wright in Spokane on May 14, 1955.  They were married for 58 years. She spent 21 years as an U.S. Air Force wife with John, a career military man.

She had two daughters; Linda Colson and Deborah Stokesberry, both of Libby.  Kay loved her family and her life evolved completely around them.  She truly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and loved her home, especially her deck and flowers.

She loved RV camping, crafting and decorating her home for the holidays.  Her greatest gift was a listening ear and supportive spirit, not only for her family but also for many of her friends.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be conducted at the First Church of the Nazarene in Libby at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.  There will be a time of fellowship following the service.

Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
